Wow! It's been OVER a month since I last posted. I am certain anyone left who read this have completely given up on me now.
We have been busy to say the least. R got home and we have been getting re introduced as a family. C has had to realize he's not entirely the center of the earth and that Mommy and Daddy enjoy each other's company as well as his!
I have been hesitant to divulge all that has been going on here because it's taken us a long time to see how we feel about it. At the end of June, we will officially become civilians. To non-military folk, that means we are getting out of the Army.
R has accepted a position in Charlottesville, Virginia at the National Ground Intelligence Center. He was honored and surprised by the job offer. This is sort of a dream job for him. Research + Military = One happy guy! I am thrilled to be moving to Charlottesville. It's a wonderful area with great schools. R's 9-5 schedule will be difficult for us to wrap our brains around, but I'm sure we will get used to it:')
We never thought we would leave the Army. We were in it for the duration, but after these last few years of regular rotations overseas, we have decided to try another path in life.
I can't even put to words how much I will miss the military community. It's a world of it's own and the experiences we have had will never be duplicated in our new life. My hope and dream is to keep those wonderful friendships we have been blessed with and carry them into our new life. I am horrible about keeping in touch, but if you are reading this (the small group you are!) please know that I think about you often and always feel bad that I am not better about getting on the phone!
We are excited about this new adventure. Scared to death, but excited. Our house gets packed up next week and we get the keys to our new place on June 10th. We are renting for the first year. The cost of living in our new area is another blog entry all itself!
As soon as we get settled, I will regularly post about this crazy new adventure.
I want to send my love and prayers out to those who just had to send their husbands out to another deployment. Hang in there, reach for your friends and breathe.

Melissa and family,
Many blessings to you and your entire family as you venture on into the world as civilians. I think you will appreciate your decision once you get used to the 9-5 world and the NO fear of being seperated for months, if not over a year! It takes some getting used to, but you'll find civilian life is very family friendly. We will pray that your transition is a smooth one.
Glad you are back and good luck on this new adventure. Glad life is getting back to 'normal' . . . post when you can!
Congrats, good luck and best wishes on the outside. Let me know how it is out there cause I feel like we might be in this zoo for the long haul. :)
